Couples and Marital Counseling

At times, it can be beneficial to have a non-biased, third party to discuss and explore your areas of concern in your relationship. Couples therapy can entail pre-marital counseling to ensure you and your partner are on the same page in terms of values, expectations, and roles prior to making the commitment to one another. Couples therapy is also useful in exploring the current and potential pitfalls in your relationship whether you and your partner have been together for a few months or several years. Additionally, you can use couples counseling to address concerns with roommates, friends, co-habitation and co-parenting.

Some common topics include communication, conflict resolution, sexual issues, and co-parenting.

Biofeedback

Stress can affect you physiologically and you may not be aware of the impact stress is having on your body. Biofeedback is a tool that enables you to understand how stress is affecting you, helping you see your ability to change physiological functions, and increase awareness of when your body is relaxed. This technology provides in the moment, real time "feed back" and does not do anything to you physically.

Dr. Sheriece will explain biofeedback in more depth in session, if utilizing this tool is of interest to you.
