Veronica Green, MA, RMHCI
Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern

When the world can seem so harsh, sometimes we overlook the good in others. I confronted this reality while working as a Correctional Officer in a prison. Many times, I realized that those who presented as defiant were people hurting and not knowing how to manage their emotions or change their circumstances. Something inside me was called to do more to help people overcome their pain.

I went back to school to gain the necessary skills to become a Mental Health Counselor, something out of the norm in the Hispanic community. At the same time, I enlisted in the Army and became a First-line Supervisor/Unit Prevention Leader, eventually changing to the Reserves in 2019. I am passionate about the work I do and continue to develop my skills to better meet the needs of the clients.

I work collaboratively with clients to relieve the pressure to “fix” the broken path by shedding light on what can and cannot be changed, reframing your situation, and taking steps towards your goals to build a new path.

I have experience with trauma and PTSD, becoming certified in Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART). ART is a short-term, evidenced-based, rapid-eye-movement treatment to reduce physiological responses and increase coping for a variety of concerns.

Additionally I am trained in CBT, ACT, and Motivational Interviewing. I design treatment plans based on the client’s needs and presenting concerns such as depression, anxiety, anger, behavioral concerns, relationship problems, substance abuse and addiction, grief, or setting healthy boundaries. I have specialized experience with active duty military, veterans, and their families.

I look forward to working with you and guiding you on your path!

Outside of being a therapist, I enjoy being outdoors, bowling, and spending time with family. I understand and read Spanish, but I am continually working on my conversational skills. I would love to test my skills with you.

                              Warm regards,
                                         Veronica
